Bien: Quad Life Prequel
The Quad Life: Prequel began as a teaser for a feature documentary about sound designer David Jeffers and his life after a spinal cord injury. The goal was to give audiences an instant sense of who David was before everything changed. The piece distills five real-life chapters—fearless kid, curious tinkerer, man in love, automotive engineer, and hands-on dad—into a fast, emotional snapshot.
Visually, we embraced a stark, cinematic 3D style to contrast the live-action film. The soundtrack adds another personal layer: “Mercury Retrograde” by Rashid Hadee, an artist on David’s own label, Neblina.
I contributed 3D modelling and animation, sculpting David and his wife Yasmin from photo reference in Blender before bringing them into Cinema 4D. Much of my work focused on environmental simulations—spaces breaking apart and reforming—echoing David’s life as it fractures, then finds new form in his wheelchair.
